Meet our beautiful Shetland ponies. They have all been carefully chosen because of their friendly, affectionate natures and love being with children, whether it is being groomed, ridden or played with. Shetland ponies are known to be gentle, good-tempered, and very intelligent by nature. Click on each picture below to find out about each of our adorable ponies.
Pick a Pony
Prancer has lived on The Little Pony Club land for many years and is our website model. He is a gelding (boy), miniature Shetland pony, standing at approximately 33 inches. Prancer is chestnut with a glorious flaxen (blond) mane and tail. He is a beautiful, proud pony who loves lots of fuss and attention. He is a real character and incredibly gentle. His best friend is Dasher.
Dom Perignon (known as 'Perri')
Perri is the herd leader. She is a mare (girl) and is skewbald (chestnut and white) in colour. Perri has a wonderful, gentle nature, she is confident and likes looking after all of the ponies and children alike. She loves to be groomed and to have lots of love given to her. She has great breeding and is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society (a ‘posh pony’). Peach Melba is her best friend.
Peach Melba is a very special pony. She is a mare (girl) and is cremello in colour, cream with blue eyes. She adores children and lots of attention. We call her our ‘super pony’ as she loves doing everything from walking through the paddocks, along beautiful farmland and woods and she is also a super jumping pony. Peach is kind and gentle and is always a big hit with children. She loves to please everyone and is Perri’s best friend. Peach Melba is registered with the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society (a ‘posh pony’).
Hope is a beautiful bay mare (bay is a reddish-brown colour). She is a very pretty pony with a gloriously long mane and tail which she loves to have plaited. Hope has a very calm and gentle temperament, so she is always popular with children at The Little Pony Club. Hope is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society (she is one of our ‘posh ponies’).
Gorgeous Karamel is a bay mare (girl) with flecks of caramel colours in her coat. She is one of our youngest ponies, at 6 years old. Karamel is a miniature Shetland pony, standing at 32 inches. She has a wonderful cheeky character ‒ we call her ‘Pocket Nipper’ as she likes to take everything out of your pocket! Karamel is a very affectionate pony who loves lots of fuss and attention. You will often find Karamel sneaking into the tack room, feedstore, Little Barn and on some occasions, even the kitchen! She is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society.
Night Star is one of our smallest ponies, standing at 29 inches in height. She is a beautiful grey (almost white) colour with a long flowing mane and tail. She is an absolute favourite with our smallest jockeys, as she is as gentle as a lamb and adores toddlers. Star will happily stand for hours if she is getting lots of attention and being groomed. She is registered with the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society.
Beatrix (known as 'Trixie')
Trixie is a beautiful black standard mare, standing at 38 inches. She is our black beauty and is able to pull a cart or trap. Trixie is a very gentle, calm pony and loves being around children. She has recently given birth to an adorable foal called Chester Oreo. Trixie is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society.
Polly Patch is a gorgeous standard mare (girl), who is one of our youngest ponies. She is a very pretty pony and is piebald (black and white) in colour. Polly Patch has a very sweet temperament and enjoys being a little bit cheeky! She is great fun to ride, and like Trixie, is able to pull a cart or trap. Her best friend is Miss Daisy and her boyfriend is Funky Dunky. Polly Patch is registered with the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society.
A very special pony, Funky Dunky is a gelding (boy) with a very unusual colour ‒ mushroom dun with a dorsal strip on his back. He has crazy colours in his mane and tail and off white tips on his ears. Full of character, he does all kinds of tricks, so watch out for them when you visit The Little Pony Club. He can play ball, climb steps, walk with high knees, say ‘please’ and ‘thank you’ and even give kisses. If he thinks you are not pleased with him, his bottom lips quivers! Dunkie is lots of fun, kind and loving and is great to ride. His girlfriend is Polly Patch.
Merrie is a beautiful standard mare (girl), standing at 42 inches. She is lemon roan in colour (cream and palomino). Merrie’s favourite thing is to stand and be groomed and have her mane and tail plaited. She has a lovely nature and is always kind and gentle with children.
Lottie is a pretty mare (girl) who stands at 34 inches. She is skewbald in colour, which means a mixture of bay and white. Lottie is extremely pretty with a very gentle, kind nature. Her favourite thing is to be groomed and she will stand very happily while you do this. Lottie is the mum of Baby.
Samson is a very handsome gelding (boy), who is 9 years old. He is a glorious chestnut colour, with a flaxen (blond) mane and tail. He is full of character and likes to play chase in the paddocks with the other ponies. Samson loves having his blond mane plaited and being dressed up for games. Like Trixie, he can pull a trap or cart.
Miss Daisy is a very pretty mare (girl). She is skewbald (chestnut and white) in colour and her best friend in the pony world is Polly Patch. She loves to be included by all of the ponies and is always the first to come and see you when you visit the paddock – she is a very nosy pony!
Baby is the daughter of Lottie and at 4 years old, is one of our youngest ponies. She is a stunning bay colour and likes nothing better than lots of attention and to be groomed. She loves toddlers. Even though Baby is tiny, she is super fast and loves galloping around the paddocks playing chase with all of the ponies.
Dasher, like Prancer, has lived on The Little Pony Club land for many years. Dasher is a gelding, miniature Shetland pony who is a little bit shy. He is a special colour called ‘blueroan’, which means in the winter he is black with a black mane and tail, and in the summer, he magically turns a pale grey but still has a black face, black socks, mane and tail. Dasher has great breeding and is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society (we call him a ‘posh pony’). He is not for riding, as up until last year, he was wild. His best friend is Prancer.
A beautiful colt (gelding) foal, he is chestnut with a very pretty white star and strip on his face, he has white socks and a chestnut and blond little tail.
Trixie is his mummy and he was born on 26th May 2017. Chester is very lively and loves cuddles. We are very excited to have such a beautiful foal at The Little Pony Club.
Somahouse Sponge (Known as 'Summer')
Summer is a super pony, she loves being ridden by Little Jockeys, she is very friendly and loves lots of fuss and attention. Summer is great fun and full of character. Summer is jet black and should really be called black beauty, she has great breeding and is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud Book Society (a posh pony)
Bowstridge Lucky Thirteen ('Known as Binky')
Binky is extremely gentle and loving with all our Little Jockeys and Shetland ponies, she will stand for hours if you give her lots of fuss and cuddles. Binky is very pretty and has tiny ears, she is a ‘posh pony’ as she is registered with The Shetland Pony Stud Book Society. Binky is very good friends with Polly Patch and Lottie.
Freddie is a very unusual colour which makes him striking to look at, he is one of our bigger ponies and is lots of fun to ride. Freddie has an amazing mane and tail and loves having ribbons and plaits to show them off. He is very friendly and has a very cheeky personality. Freddie will always say hello to you, he is very chatty.
Sovereigns Last Trick known as Trixie Two
Trixie Two is a beautiful little pony, she is very kind and gentle and loves lots of attention. Trixie Two is one of our bigger ponies, she is a wonderful colour with very pretty markings on her face. Trixie Two is so pretty she looks like a show pony!
Scooby Doo is a wonderful kind pony, he loves everyone and all the ponies. Scooby has become one of the herd leaders in the field as the Shetlands trust him and respect his kindness. Scooby is a super pony when you are ready to go off the lead rein and start jumping.
Bumble Bee is very beautiful, he is a very special colour and has a bright blond mane and tail. Bumble Bee loves children and cuddles, he is super kind and very gentle. Bumble Bee can be very steady to ride or for more experienced riders he is great off the lead rein.
